Need help identifying a Kenmore dishwasher part?
Our dishwasher is not draining and the water is yucky and dirty. The place where it drains at the back right of the diswasher is brown and gunky and looks like it needs to be cleaned out. I looked online at the owners manual and I dont see this part identified to be able to repair/clean it. Does anyone have any idea what it is and how I can repair it or clean it on my own? Thanks!!

I can’t think of anything to the right in the back above or below. However, there is a sump inlet in the center back part number WD18X213 . Now when you set it to drain do you hear a loud click, that is the drain solenoid opening allowing the water to drain. If you don’t hear it click you should check it to seen if it is getting power with a volt meter. I have seen some drain solenoids melt to. To find the drain solenoid. Remove the lower panel in the front and you will see the motor, to the left of the motor you will see the solenoid, it had two wires on it and a pluger that actives the flapper inside the sump. Before you do all that, It could also be right inside the machine, in the front on the left you see the cup and it has one screw with a support bracket for the heater, remove the cap and underneath is the float switch. gently lift it up and down a few times and reinstall the cap and the heater bracket and give it a whirl. If you need more help I am here. The screw size is 5/16 hex. Good luck.
