Can you make regular coffee in a cappuccino machine?
I just bought a cappuccino machine on sale from Kohls. Can I still make regular coffee in it?
Is it a steam powered espresso machine?
If so then it probably cannot even make a decent espresso (sorry, but true) as steaming hot water makes for a bitter espresso. Pump machines deliver sub steaming temp water to the grounds and make a better tasting espresso.
All that being said, You can make a very nice Americano with a decent espresso machine. An Americano is an espresso and hot water. Basically turning the espresso into a thinned version almost like drip coffee but better taste.
(Espresso is the dark, thick coffee that comes out, Cappuccino is when you mix the espresso with steamed milk and foam. Latte is espresso and steamed milk with little foam)
